Red Circle Photography is the work of Spanish photographer Mike Burdon who captures some gorgeous skydiving imagery that looks so surreal it almost appears as though it was rendered in 3D. He also keeps up on his Behance-folio where you can check out a little more of his work.
Comments Off on Alison Scarpulla: UpdatesPhotography
New York based mysticism photographer Alison Scarpulla has updated her Flickr-folio in the last few weeks with more cosmic psychedelic imagery that harkens back to a more ‘trippy’ time. I am really impressed with her recent works and won’t be surprised if a band takes her on for some album art in the very near future.
Photographer Nikki Toole is originally Scottish but now based in Australia. Toole’s latest project is called Skater and captures skaters right off the street presenting them in an objective and stark light. It’s portraits of skaters just simply being who they are and what makes them so unique. One of the images is currently hanging in the National Portrait Gallery of Australia. Toole is currently looking for skaters in London, Prague, Berlin, Venice and Rome this year.
Photographer Chadwick Tyler became known to the art world for his seminal gallery show Tiberius, which depicted 55 portraits of young women as ‘wistful’ creatures. He has recently shot for Levi’s and been featured in Dazed and Confused, The Last Magazine, French, V and Grey.
I wrote about the work of photographer Noah Kalina a few months ago. Since then he has updated his Flickr-folio (just last week actually) with some new imagery. Kalina is a rare talent who feels equally at home with a camera positioned in front of both a fashion model or a contemplative landscape. He manages to tell a story or suggest one with every image engaging the viewer at every turn. He’s also not afraid to post his imagery in large formats where you can not only appreciate it at scale but possibly even print one out for yourself to hang on a wall in your studio.
Australian photographer Caitlin Worthington is only 20 years old but has the eye of someone much much older. She has some exceptional portrait work in her portfolio and looks as though she is ready to make a break in the fashion world as well.
Alex Freund has some new photographs in his portfolio in the soft, supple and sexy shades of summer. Freund is a true artist behind the camera blurring the lines between art and fashion.
Comments Off on David Benjamin Sherry: UpdatesPhotography
NY based photographer and Yale graduate David Benjamin Sherry has updated with several new images for 2010, all of which are strange, psychedelic and introspective. His work continues to evolve and I would imagine he will be lining up the exhibitions in the future.
It is almost impossible to believe Norwegian photographer Ole Thomas is only 18 years old. He has an eye for imagery years beyond his age and captures provocative artistic imagery that a seasoned photographer would kill for. Keep your eye on this amazing talent.
Texan photographer Mikaylah Bowman is an artist. There is no mincing words about that. She has an unusual eye for composition and experiments with her subjects to create sometimes eerie, psychedelic and disturbing and yet at other times highly cosmic and contemplative imagery. All of which is art.
Comments Off on Lenancker Romain: UpdatesPhotography
French Art Director, Set Designer and Photographer Lenancker Romain has updated with a few new images that continue to bend the line between commercial work and art work.
Photographer Frankie Nazardo’s work can be strange and dark but also whimsical capturing fluttering moments that most people would miss. There is no denying his work as art.
Joshua Hoffine is a self-proclaimed ‘horror photographer’ and he isn’t messing around. His work will shock and quite possibly inspire a bit of sincere fear. His use of children in his imagery is particularly disturbing but there is no arguing his vision.
Photographer Lucia Holm graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Rhode Island School of Design in 2004 and continued her studies earning a Master of Fine Arts Degree from New York Academy of Art in 2006. She has some stylish and sexy photographs in her Flickr folio and you can see a few larger images at her personal website.
Director/photographer Sean Stiegemeier spent 4 days at the foot of Eyjafjallajökull on May 1st and May 2nd where he managed to piece together this time-lapsed video of nature at work. Music by Jónsi – Kolniður (jonsi.com).
Stockholm based photographer Jenni Porkka has only been shooting professionally for 2 years but has already amassed an a long client roster including Zink, Kurv, Spex, Hint, Lush, Idoll, Glitterati, Glamcult, SVA, Leve and Fan The Fire just to list a few. It’s easy to see why with her eye for glamor and composition.
