Allan Peters is a Minneapolis based Art Director, Graphic Designer and Typographer with some clean, simple and air-tight work in his portfolio including some exceptional type work for Nike.
Matt Hoyle is an ad man turned photographer who has captured some very well known personalities. His work has been recognized by numerous publications and shown in the national portrait gallery. It’s obvious his skills extend beyond the lens to directing his talent to capture the unique aspects of their persona. He’s also spoken at TED which you can watch here.
Photographer Greg Ponchak has updated with more darkly serene and mystical black and white images. I am amazed by his ability to seemingly capture images like this on the fly. He has a real eye for composition and drama.
Spanish multidisciplinary design studio Medusateam have updated their already colorful and poppy portfolio with yet more colorful and poppy work. Yummy eye candy.
Chris Koehler is an award winning artist and illustrator working out of San Francisco. He has worked with Wired, Google, Coca Cola, MTV, Kenneth Cole, and The NFL, among others. His award winning and apparently unpublished graphic novel ‘Devotion’ features some spectacular and gorgeous imagery. Chris also teaches in the illustration department at California College of the Arts and regularly shows in galleries.
There is some rock solid motion and 3D work coming out of studio Elastic. It’s all good stuff and they know how to seamlessly integrate 3D into live action. I would keep an eye on these people.
Scotty has illustrated for clients the likes of GQ, Time Magazine, The Boston Globe, The New Yorker, The New York Times and Wired. He utilizes a restrained and relatively geometric vector approach and often exercises restraint in his color palette.
Studio Output has pulled together a notable group of illustrators and designers including the likes of Jon Burgerman, Serial Cut, Mr Jago, Happy Lovers Town, Tomato, eBoy and Jasper Goodall to create wallpapers for the background on either the Sony Playstation 3 or PSP. The above wallpaper is by Jonathan Zawada. The entire project is simply titled ‘The Studio‘.
Roman Klonek is based in Düsseldorf, Germany where he creates his illustrations via woodcut using sharp geometric lines and a restricted color palette.
Michael Byers gyrating characters are painted with poppy colors and drawn in over-dramatized perspectives. The images themselves are a lot of fun to look at. Byers is based in Guelph, Ontario where after a bit of life and times trial and error he managed to find himself through illustration.
Byron Eggenschwiler is an illustrator currently living in Calgary, Alberta. There is something soft about much of his imagery but behind that facade lurks something much darker. It’s the perfect recipe for just the right amount of tension and intrigue.
The Parisian studio Pool which is headed by Léa Padovani & Sébastien Kieffer is responsible for the extremely simple yet wonderfully smart chair above. I don’t think they are for sale yet or have been mass produced but if they are, I must have one immediately.
There is some very good looking branding work for print in the portfolio of Catherine Bourdon. It’s simple yet very tasty.
Rémy Cayuela keeps it dark, creepy, sexy and cool for WAT’s single ‘Kill Kill off of their upcoming album.

Fun, colorful and 60’s styled illustrations fill the portfolio of UK-based illustrator and designer Deanna Halsall. Yes, the work is derivative and does remind me of some other illustrators works but the style is something that has been around for a long long time.
A-FACE-A-DAY is a self initiated project by an Austrian art director/ illustrator based in VIENNA who wanted to capture the fascinating people that occupy the city. There is a lot of fun to be had here.
I recently discovered that illustrator Krzysztof Domaradzki has a website featuring some of his older works called ‘The Other Me‘. There is some tasty stuff in there that seamlessly combines traditional drawings with digital illustration along with some simple but effective graphic typography.
