It’s been a long time since we have heard from our talented friends at MK12 but they have recently released their summer reel. It’s packed full of examples of their unique and always-inspiring talents. You can also view more of their work at their Website. They certainly have not lost their edge.

Local Boulder graphic designer Justin Fuller is the co-founder of Table 2 Press and also has a skilled hand when it comes to graphic design. He has some clean and crisp work in his portfolio that is not lacking in personality and somehow manages to maintain a hint ‘of Colorado-ness’. You local peeps will know what I mean. It makes for a fun body of likeable work.

Design studio Ohyescoolgreat has does indeed yes have some cool and great print work in their portfolio. They prefer to keep their approach simple and classic and hence have a body of work that signifies that philosophy. The result is some clean and cracking design for print.

Rep agency Hugo and Marie have added one more remarkably talented name to their short but amazing list of artists and that person is Kustaa Saksi. They have updated their website with some of Saksi’s colorful and fantastic work. Last time I was in NY, Mario Hugo was loaded to the gills with work so it sounds like they are doing very well. With the talent they currently have under their umbrella, it’s easy to see why they would be busy.

Argentinian design studio NASA have updated with both a brand new website and several new works in their portfolio. It’s a trendy display but they have pulled in some really great clients for themselves and really have it dialed in on how to present their work.

I have written about graphic designer Klas Ernflo before and there is always excellent work in his portfolio worth looking into. I didn’t realize however that he is also a very talented photographer and you can bear witness to that fact by visiting his Flickr-folio where he stores his image exploits. What a multidimensional talent.

German design studio Visualism has a small but very considered body of work. There are all kinds of fun, clean and beautiful things happening within their portfolio and I would definitely keep a keen eye on what new projects they add in the coming months. It might be a short list of projects as of now but it’s mighty.

Brazilian design and photography studio Grima has a small but interesting body of work. There is not a lot in their book but what is there shows that they have a wide range of capabilities and take a unique approach to each project.

Brooklyn based graphic designer/illustrator Damien Correll has had his work posted on this blog before but I don’t know if his Flickr-folio has ever been posted. It needs to be because it is updated much more frequently than his website and features some colorful, accessible and beautiful design and print work. I am a big fan of the above poster for a Nike’s All for One exhibition using a great color palette.

I don’t know how long ago Sydney based design agency Toko updated their website and portfolio but it doesn’t really matter. New or not, it’s worth looking into to get a glimpse at some genuinely inspiring design work bridging the gap with design as an artform. There is some sincerely beautiful work in their portfolio, including some excellent typographical work and that’s about all I have to say about that.

Swedish designer/digital illustrator Niklas Lundberg has updated his portfolio with more complex layered digi-visuals. He also now has prints of some of his work available. I am curious how much detail comes through in the physical print. It’s always something akin to magic when you receive a complex digital illustration in a physical print format to see just how much detail is contained within the image.

Brazilian design agency Pianofuzz sent in a link to their interesting work that lives within an equally interesting website. I am not entirely sure, to be totally honest, if I like their website but it is different and in a way makes you more curious about who they are and what they do.

Graphic designer Paul Tebbott was recently inspired by Roy Batty’s monologue at the end of Bladerunner and produced an absolutely gorgeous surreal poster as a result of that inspiration. I can’t say how much I love this poster. I am going to order one to hang in my studio over our couch. It’s beautiful. It reminds me a bit of a Salvidor Dali painting and although it is simple in execution, there is an enormous amount of spiritual depth in the piece. You can purchase a copy in his online store. Excellent work Mr. Tebbott.

Sawdust has recently completed the design for ‘Genesis of a deep sound’. It’s the latest album from ‘Fabrice Lig’ on label Fine Art recordings and is now available on CD and 12” vinyl. A custom typeface was created specifically for the project and the front of the record has graphic indicators overlaid onto the image that when matched to the back spell the word ‘Genesis’.
Sawdust has been cranking out some really great work lately that reminds me a bit of Non-Format. They are also damn good self promoters as not only we but a lot of the design blogs receive an update whenever they complete a project. Smart.

Lucía Castro is a Barcelona based graphic designer with an outstanding body of typographic-focused print work. Her work is simple and classic but makes a very contemporary use of color in her layouts. What are they putting in the water in Barcelona anyway? Maybe it’s the paella, or it could be the jamón ibérico but it’s probably the hash.

Ross Bruggink is a Minneapolis based graphic designer with some very nice work in his portfolio. I stumbled across him while searching for some inspiration for my Artcrank poster that I still have to create for this year’s Denver event. I love Bruggink’s poster. Very nice. I am curious if it was letterpressed.
