Liverpool born illustrator Adrian Johnson has kept busy and has been updating his portfolio with more of his simple in execution yet sophisticated in wit illustrations.

He holds an MA degree from the Camberwell College of Arts. He works with a pronounced retro-inspired style as an independent illustrator, and is represented as an animation designer by Studio AKA.
I am taken by this hand drawn alphabet by the Russian design collective Dopludo. It must have taken forever to not only to draw each letter but to think up what each letter would be. It’s an impressive effort.
Kid Plastik is Drew Taylor who pushes pixels by day and DJays at night. He definitely has a point of view happening throughout his work and it’s easy to see how his music lifestyle influences his design work. On a side note, I also like very much how he utilized his Cargo site.

Graphic Havoc or GHAVA for short has stayed busy and have lately worked on campaigns for both AOL and Mtv. They are a staple on the inspiration list for a lot of graphic designers but they have turned much more strongly toward direction as of late. I particularly enjoyed some of their recent retro Napoleon Dynamite-inspired T.V. spots.
Brazilian design studio Quinta-feira which means ‘Thursday’ in Portuguese are cranking out a heavy dose of graphic design for print and editorial and have managed to amass a nice body of contemporary design work. I wrote about them way back in 2008 but they have continued cranking out good work since.
