Barcelona based brothers Juan and Alejandro Mingarro are Brosmind. I have posted their work here before but it appears they have since updated with some more fun and playful vector illustration work.
George Nova is a young Australian artist and designer with a skilled hand at producing graphite and watercolor illustrations. His imagery is clean, to the point and a helluva a lot of fun to look at.

Please let me introduce you to the wild world of the very talented illustrator and concept artist S. MacKay-Smith. It’s a little dark but the talent is undeniable.

I finally bought myself a Cintiq. It’s awesome. That’s all I have to say about that. I have been experimenting with creating my own brushes and have settled on a little pack that allows me to generate some imagery that feels like it’s been inked even when viewed up close as a printed piece. Being able to draw directly onto the screen and into the computer takes a little getting used to. It’s taken me about 3 weeks to adjust but I have settled in now and it’s totally changed how I illustrate. Now I don’t think I could live without it.
I just did this the other day and thought it turned out kinda neat. Thought I’d share it with you.

Topher MacDonald used to live right here in Colorado around the corner from Denver in Longmont. But now he has transplanted himself to New York. Now why would you go and do something like that? He’s got some great work in his book and is currently accepting commissions.

Illustrator Kevin Tong has been on a roll this year with some seriously amazing prints created for the likes of Mondo and Spoke Art. He is about to drop some new prints this week and that makes it as good a time as any for the uninitiated to check out his work.
Gerhard Human is more than just an awesome name, he’s an illustrator who generates colorful, poppy and gyrating images of crazy characters.
We are digging illustrator and screen printer Bill Connors loose, cartoony pop culture clash mashup imagery that he then silkscreens onto colorful, kick ass posters. Delicious.
Japanese illustrator Tatsuro Kiuchi has a nice gritty yet dreamy style that feels hand-rendered. It’s a nice juxtaposition of style and content that makes for a likeable image.

“Craig Redman and Karl Maier live on opposite sides of the world but collaborate daily to create bold work that is filled with simple messages executed in a thoughtful and often humorous way. They specialize in illustration, installation, typography, as well as character, editorial and pattern design.
Craig & Karl have exhibited across the world, most notably at the Musée de la Publicité, Louvre. They have worked on projects for clients like LVMH, Nike, Apple, Vogue, Microsoft, Converse, MTV and The New York Times.”
It’s probably best to keep an eye on this dynamic duo because even before joining forces they were attracting a lot of attention. And from the looks of their portfolio they are going to be attracting a whole lot more.
Chinese illustrator Qian Yi is generating some downright beautiful digital and traditional paintings at a rate that belies a serious talent not just as a digital artist or illustrator but a contemporary one.
Designer/illustrator Ben Thomas has a very interesting style complimented by the use of 3D. He is one of the few designers using these elements that is regularly releasing prints. It’s all an extremely bright and surreal experience looking through his work but we dig it. He mentioned in an email to us the possibility of a collaboration and we are all ears to that idea.
“Follow Marie’s adventures and misfortunes through mountains and seas in her no-go quest to become the super powerful La Fabuleuse, the chick illustrator capable of conquering the entire universe in a blink.
Illustrations, Screenprints, Comics and Stupidity.”
I think ‘stupidity’ might be a little strong but it’s used in the spirit of ‘fun’ and ‘fun’ is definitely the right word to describe Marie’s work.
What I dig about Scott Balmer’s illustrations is that they somehow manage to be current while invoking references to great illustrators from the 60’s and 70’s He’s putting Illustrator to good use.

Jay Shaw calls himself ‘Iron Jaiden’ and has gathered quite a following on hardcore print and poster websites like Expresso Beans and OMG Posters (I know because I am one of the nerds who constantly frequents those websites and collects posters). You can see his excellent work at Kingdom of Nonsense. I was totally excited to recently discover that Jay is actually a resident of Denver, Colorado and his studio is just downtown. That excitement was compounded when I also discovered that he is hosting a silkscreen poster exhibition tomorrow night as a tribute to the amazing writer/director Sydney Lumet. The show was expertly curated by Jay himself and features some fantastic posters by artists like Kevin Ang and James Rheem Davis. You can see most of the posters in the show here at OMG posters. This is going to be a great event and it’s a little something new for the art scene here in Denver. So don’t miss out tomorrow night. I am planning on being there myself.
Here are the details:
Laundry on Lawrence
2701 Lawrence
Denver, Co
Doors open at 7. Be there or be square or at least miss out on that poster you are coveting.
Leftover posters will be sold at Jay’s online storefront the following day.
Joshua Andrew Belanger creates illustrations that are wicked evil head-bangingly good. He also documents a lot of his process which is super informative if you are a digital illustrator. He captures his efforts in ‘speed drawing’ videos and there is a lot to pick up on with technique if you watch closely.
