Italian illustrator Alberto Seveso is always up to something new and perpetually experimenting with his style. Lately he has updated with a few new bits and bobs of work that continue to further his exploration into digital illustration.

The work of 25-year-old German illustrator Valentin Fischer will no doubt remind you of the work of James Jean and Sam Weber but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it is still very well executed. Regardless of the influence, I am still a big fan of this style and with the amount of talent required to achieve it Fischer definitely has some potential to make some beautiful work.
LA-based designer, illustrator and artist Demetrius May has some sincerely radical work in one of the more wild portfolios I have seen in some time. There are some very strange things going on in his work but it is all art and I love that. He graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, Illustration from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Since then, he has been making, like I said, some seriously radical work. It will be interesting to see what he does in the future.
Alberto “Sting” Russo is a creative director and illustrator based in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is also the founder of the Swiss design studio Areadesign. Sting One is his online portfolio of illustration and typographical works created for both personal projects and clients. There is some great work in his book.
French Art Director, illustrator and designer Emeric Trahand, also known as Takeshi has updated his portfolio once again with some very rousing work. He is really starting to push his subject matter and there are some very interesting new examples of his style in this recent update. He is currently based in NYC.
Other Scenes is the work of psychedelic illustrator and designer Michael Willis. He is also one half of Panther Club, a newly formed multi-disciplinary studio founded in 2009 with artist and illustrator Lindsey Gooden.
Breed London is representing some extremely talented individuals from the design and illustration industry. The roster includes people like Si Scott, Steve Wilson, James Joyce and MASA to name a few.
I stumbled across the unusual and highly individualized stylistic fashion illustrations of Laura Laine this morning. She definitely has a point of view and each of her illustrations serves as an individual piece of art.
Berlin-based André Gottschalk has a strong body of both design and illustration work. Rarely do you see someone so equally rounded at both disciplines as both sides of the spectrum in his portfolio are worth looking into. He is definitely someone to keep an eye on.
Counter-Objects is the sister store to Counter-Print and features some equally thoughtfully curated art and design goodies that I am sure a lot of us would love to get our hands on. There are some posters available from some my favorite designers and illustrators that I didn’t even realize were still in circulation. I discovered the site via a link back to Changethethought and for that I thank them very much.
Family has updated with a new website. Honestly though, I can’t quite tell how much, if any of the work is new. I am a fan of their work, hence the post. So, if you have yet to browse their portfolio, consider this an excuse.
Lisbon-based studio Alva looks as though they recently updated their website and portfolio. The piece pictured above is not new but still one of my favorite examples of their work. Even if the update isn’t entirely recent, they are still worth looking into for the uninitiated.
Yellow Bird Machine is the illustrative design work of Amy Martino who isn’t afraid to use bold color. She has a style all her own that runs throughout her portfolio.
Illustrator Jonas Bergstrand has been busy since I last dropped in and he has updated recently with some beautiful illustration work that shows an enormous attention to detail.
Iain Macarthur graduated in 2008 from Swindon College after completing a study in illustration and has since been filling his Behance-folio with some well crafted ‘collage’ pen, ink and graphite drawings. There is some great contrast happening within the drawings and there is a great balance between flat color and softer gradients. They are definitely fun to look at and I could imagine them being quite striking when hung on a wall in a group. The high school punk in me is still always a sucker for skulls.
Same Tomorrow is the portfolio of New York City based Art Director/ Designer Adam Chang. He has some nice work for interactive and some fine examples of digital illustration in his portfolio. He is currently freelance project work.
Surreal Sushi is the concept art and illustration of the extremely talented Vancouver based Jeff Simpson. His proficiencies are in Photoshop CS2 and Wacom intuos which seems to insinuate that most of his work is probably digital which is pretty amazing considering how tactile it all feels. I am always a little in awe of illustration work created this way.
Hellofreaks is a Graphic Design Studio based in Paris, France. They are led by graphic designer/illustrator Jerome Castro. They have a style all their own and some really fun character illustration in their portfolio.
