1st Ave Machine: Relaunch

1stavemachine.jpg

Motion-house 1st Avenue Machine has relaunched their site which now features full-browser video (a little bit of a processor cruncher though). Better yet, this full browser video features a beautiful nude (yet strangely nippleless) woman being transformed by laser blasting robot arms into a cyborg. How’s that for ass-kicking awesome?

Suprb: Relaunch

Comments Off on Suprb: RelaunchGraphic Design

suprbrelaunch.jpg

Suprb has officially relaunched with a new site and apparently a new team.

More about Suprb:
“Originally established in 2005 by Andreas Pihlstrom, Suprb became a two man army when Emil Olsson joined forces in late 2008.

Suprb is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Stockholm, Sweden that works remotely with a select group of like minded creatives from the world over, such as Dimitre Lima, Universal Everything, Christopher Hewitt, Michael Paul Young, Jonathan Puckey, Michael Fakesch, Stefan Gandl, Jake Wherry and Ben Lukas Boysen.”

Wow, that is some pretty serious heavy-hitting name-dropping. I am a massive fan of Universal Everything and all that they do.

Pause NYC: Free Tickets

Comments Off on Pause NYC: Free TicketsMotion Graphics

pausenyc.jpg

UPDATE: SORRY BUT WE HAVE OUR 2 WINNERS ALREADY.

I have two free tickets to FITC’s Pause NYC event next week. All you need to do is answer the following question correctly in an email sent to hire[at]changethethought.com:

“What was Mark Romanek’s first feature film and who was the lead actor in that film.”

The first two people to email the correct answer, your name and email address will receive the tickets. 1 ticket per person only. So two people will win. I must have the answers, names and email addresses in to FITC by Wednesday this week to confirm the tickets, so act fast or miss your chance.

This is going to be a great event for anyone involved in the motion graphics side of the creative industry so don’t miss a chance at a free seat, especially if you already live in New York City.

Here is a little more about the event:
FITC is on the move with an imaginative new event for the broadcast and film community. PAUSE: Ideas in Motion debuts November 10 – 11, 2008 at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Centre in NYC. From 30-second commercial spots to feature films and experiential design, PAUSE NYC examines the concepts, techniques and principles that drive the world’s leading creative studios.

The two-day event features 12 one-hour presentations, a panel discussion, special screenings, and nightly socials as only FITC can deliver. Confirmed presenters at release time include: BTRY, Brand New School, BUCK, Digital Kitchen, GMunk, HUSH, Joseph Kosinski, MK12 and UFO.

PAUSE NYC is open to anyone who works with 3D and motion graphics technologies — whether After Effects, Combustion, Maya, Motion, or a combination of these and other bold new toolsets. Delegate passes range in price from $59 to $249 US (Student and Regular). Early bird discount rates apply now through October 10, 2008. Go to www.pausenyc.tv for details or to register.

“FullScream is the work of Ced Pakusevskij, Motion Artist based in Milan, Italy.
He is a winner of 3 Promax BDA World Gold Awards, and various others.
“I believe that design is, above all, a tool to communicate a concept. The style should be the appropriate grammar to deliver the message. That’s why I like to be involved in every part of a project, from concept and direction to illustration, compositing, and 3d.

Motion design is the most exciting way to do all my art at once.”
Besides being a Motion Artist he draws, does photography and composes music under the alias “SkengChan”.”

Striking, colorful, bold, frenetic and exiting work.

I Love Dust In Motion

Comments Off on I Love Dust In MotionMotion Graphics

ilovedustanimation.jpg

One of my favorite design and illustration firms, I Love Dust, has been breaking some new ground in the world of motion graphics animation. It is really no surprise when considering the amazing detail in their hand-rendered illustrations and their amazing ability to master whatever media they choose to use. They have two new experimental motion pieces on display at Ultimate PC. Sorry Mac people (that would include me).

Be sure to click on the smaller thumbnails to see both of the animations.
