It’s been almost exactly a year since I last wrote about Bruxelles based design studio Pam and Jenny. They have since updated with several new and attractive projects for 2010. They have a large portfolio of work available for viewing at their website so plan on spending a little extra time for inspirations sake.

It’s been a long time since I mentioned Robi Jõeleht but a visit to his portfolio today surprised me with some new work (at least work I haven’t yet seen) that I happened to like a lot. I was particularly fond of the typographical work. Keep it up Robi.
Matt Stevens decided to take a simple illustration of a Nike Air Max 1 sneaker and blow it out into an ongoing series of visual interpretations achieved via the style of his favorite designers and illustrators. It’s a great exercise that will no doubt teach him some key insights into the stylistic approaches of his muses. The Mark Weaver and Nicholas Felton pieces are spot on.
“NIKE78 is an exciting new project created by Paul Jenkins and inspired by NIKE. Creatives involved will receive a brand new pair of NIKE shoes and will be asked to use sport as inspiration to challenge their function. The project will be documented on this website and after the shoes have been collected, an exhibition showcase is planned for the London Design Festival 2010. This is a unique project featuring some of the most talented creative individuals, studios and other organisations.”
You can check out a little bit of the work so far in the ‘Outcomes‘ section of the Nike 78 website. The Nike 78 project is part of the exhibition at this years London Design Festival in September. You can check back for future updates including more details (hopefully more imagery) about the contributing artists and designers in the Nike 78 section of the London Design Festival website.

Comments Off on Sixpack France – Zawada ZineGraphic Design
Sixpack France was kind enough to ship me a copy of a 64 page zine featuring the work of Australian Graphic Designer and Illustrator Jonathan Zawada. The copy is sitting on my desk now as a source of inspiration. The zine is titled “Can The Drummer Give Some More” and is printed on an oversized format of 24x32cm.
I am a big fan of Zawada’s work and there are some silky smooth drawings in the zine that I really appreciated. It’s an attractive piece of work and very high quality for a zine. I highly recommend checking it out if you are at all interested in Zawada’s work. It was a nice way to get my hands on something tangible that had multiple examples of his unique artwork in a large format on heavy paper.
You can purchase the zine here for 25 Euro and check out more of Zawada’s work at his personal website.
Matthew Whiteley is a third year student at Salford student who is currently looking for work placements in the Manchester and Leeds area. He already has some very mature work in his portfolio and I wouldn’t hesitate to snatch him up if you have an opening.
Finnish multi-disciplinary studio Kokoro & Moi has relaunched with a new site and several new projects to browse. The studio was founded in 2001 by designers Teemu Suviala and Antti Hinkula and is based in Helsinki, Finland.
‘Fun’ is pretty much the operative word when describing the work of Mike Dornseif. However, he is equally equipped to get serious when it comes to logo design.
From Falmouth is the work produced by the Graphic Design (BA Hons) students graduating from University College Falmouth in 2010. There is some really great work up there and if you are in the market, I would be looking to pick up some of the talent they are putting out there into the world. Good luck students and keep up the great work.
