Digital illustrator and pixel pusher Rob Shields has updated with some striking new imagery. It’s a touch darker than some of his past work but his technique is getting sharper and imagery more interesting.

“A Short Film by Sebastian Lopez
The Killing Joke is a 15 minute suspense/fiction short film about a mysterious woman that finds a red balloon tied up to a curious little box on an eery derelict street. Using classic elements of suspense and working within a seventies aesthetic, ‘The Killing Joke’ is an action packed film that pays homage to some of the horror movies from that era.”

There are some quiet and contemplative moments happening in the Flickrstream of ‘Shtroxy‘. They are like little snippets from past memories or dreams. Some of them are light and some are dark. She has a great eye for composition and I would be curious is these are staged or just captured on the fly.
I am a fan of Chairlift and this video for their latest single ‘Amanaemonesia’ doesn’t disappoint in either sound nor image.

Axtorworld is the work and universe of a guy named Axtor (go figure) and it’s kind of a strange and sometimes scary place. It’s kind of fun in a trippy psychedelic way though just try to keep your sanity while browsing.
B-i-r-d-i-e is making some cool stuff. There isn’t necessarily a lot of rhyme or reason to what that stuff it but some of it is very good.
I may have posted Wayne White’s work a long time back but his word paintings are simply well…you can read it above. It’s absolutely amazing just how many of these he has done and how well rendered each one is. I’d love to have one to hang at home or in our studio.
Artist Eric Daigh creates his imagery using nothing other than pushpins. His portraiture can sometimes require up to 25,000 push pins at a time. The imagery is amazing but even more amazing is the gigantic amount of patience required to sit there and physically push 25,000 pins into a canvas.
Honestly, I don’t think it’s possible for this video to more perfectly match and even describe the music of Bon Iver. Absolutely beautiful cinematography.

Apparently you are supposed to be a bit of a geek to appreciate the paintings on black velvet by tattoo artist Bruce White. But I don’t think you have to be a geek to appreciate that White is a talented painter who has genuinely mastered his chosen medium. The fact that his work depicts famous movie characters is an added bonus.
A 7 minute animated film by Isaac King that uses both stop motion and traditional animation.
“The term ‘second hand’ refers to the ticking hand on a clock; it also describes re-used items. Would you rather save time? Or save stuff? This film examines the imbalance and waste created by these modern obsessions.”

Thomas Traum has updated with some absolutely wild new work for multiple mediums that is bursting with dynamic imagery and color.
This liquid type by Russian designer and typographer Ruslan Khasanov is pretty darn cool. You can check out more of his work in his Behance portfolio.
Wow, there are some surreal images floating around in the mind of painter Tania Blanco. Fortunately she is able to put them on canvas in an absolutely exquisite way that beguiles an amazing talent.
Lucas Nogueran is a Paris based illustrator and designer with a regularly updated blog of highly imaginative and artistic imagery drawing influences from street culture to skateboarding.
Typographer Seb Lester has released another beautiful print with a simple message, ‘peace’. That message is communicated however through a complex and beautiful work of artistic typography. To find out more about purchasing the print visit Lester’s website.
Stockholm based illustrator Kilian Eng updated his Behance-folio once again with more magnificent 70’s/80’s retro-sci-fi-inspired imagery that employs the use of simple line art, imaginative color and even more imaginative scenery. Count me as a fan.
This trailer for Resistance 3 references some of the art created for the cover by Olly Moss but it goes way beyond that. The minimal use of color and reference to printed effects make this a showstopping piece of animation completed by Spov Design + Moving Image.
