Designer Leif Podhajsky has been on a roll this year in a big way. He’s recently returned from working on the album art for the upcoming release from Lykke Li and recently posted some new work to his site for Tame Impala (I love that band). He’s one to keep an eye on in 2011 for sure.
Melbourne born London based designer/illustrator Timba Smits is a self described lover of all things ‘vintage’ or ‘old-looking’ and he puts that inspiration to good use in his sometimes sexy vintage-inspired design and illustration work. He complements those illustration skills with some strong design work and an obviously good sense of humor.
Downright bizarre but very well rendered character 3D concept art is spilling from the mind and hand of Calum 5. It’s a strange little jaunt through his portfolio that will fill your head with some memorable images.
Trendy digitally collaged and composited eye candy can be found in the portfolio of Russian designer/illustrator Sergey Vlasov and I do like me a little of that sort of thing from time to time especially when done right.
Illustrator Yury Ustsinau has updated with a new vectorliscious set of dark yet somehow bubbly, dimensional and animated characters that are extremely fun to look at. Yury currently resides in Frankfurt, Germany where he works as a commercial freelance illustrator and designer.
British vector illustrator and graphic designer Olly Moss reimagined the original Star Wars trilogy posters for Mondo. Take it from a Star Wars generation super fan (I’m buying Star Wars stuff for my little boys room) these posters are super awesome. They go on sale tomorrow at a random time and are most likely available in limited quantities. Get that checkbook out and stand by.
Barcelona based graphic designer and illustrator Marta Cerdá Alimbau has updated her website and portfolio and wanted to share it with the readers of CTT. We felt obliged to tell you because we like what Alimbau does. Save us a seat at your favorite bar in the gothic quarter Marta, we’d like to take a little design/typography pilgrimage next year and would love to say hello.
Ruben Ireland mixes some digital with traditional methods to produce his imagery and the results yielded make for some delectable eye candy. He’s not afraid to experiment and mix it up either which could make for some more interesting work in the future.
Adam Fantome draws things and makes those things into fancy prints. He has just updated with a new print of Lady Gaga and one of his last few prints has already sold out.
Poster designer and illustrator Tyler Stout has still been cranking out the goods lately. I would kill for a copy of his ‘The Thing’ poster. I recently saw a copy of it hanging in the bedroom of Robin Williams character in ‘World’s Greatest Dad’. His recent poster for the Black Keys looks pretty sweet and will no doubt sell out like the rest.
Dan Mountford is a Graphic Designer/Illustrator and a student at Brighton University. His experimental photo collages have attracted a little buzz this past week because they are a lot of fun to look at.
Amanda Nedham’s imaginative drawings and watercolors pay homage to classicism but draw inspiration from nature and dreams pushing them into the realm of the surreal.
I gotta say that the more Lain Macarthur produces, the more I love his work. It just keeps getting better and better. He’s still very young too which points toward a long and productive career as an illustrator. His recent series inspired by the movie Black Swan is very well rendered but maintains a grit that makes the imagery accessibly artistic. Good stuff.

German-Polish designer Sebastian Onufszak has updated with a new site and several new visceral, digital, slick, cool, glowing and kinetic collage illustrations.
Self-taught Russian designer/illustrator Fill Ryabchikov isn’t afraid to use the color pink liberally. His glowing, 80’s sci-pop imagery will have you tripping through a retro-futuristic flashback forward like walking on a dream.
