The legendary hand-cut and drawn typographical wizard Cody Hudson has finally updated his website after a very very long long time. Inspiration and genius simplicity abound.
Swiss graphic designer Felix Pfäffli has updated with a few new pieces of work. I absolutely love his posters and typography work. Beautiful.
The portfolio of Minneapolis-based design studio Workerman has some nice examples of smart and simple design. Some of which (including the poster you wish you’d thought of) can be taken home via their online store.
Amsterdam based graphic designer Jarrik created this entire dimensional typeface by cutting and folding pieces of paper. That’s a labor of love.

The always inspirational Minneapolis designer/illustrator and now typographer Travis Stearns appears to have updated recently with a new website. It looks as though he is working hard at type design and his efforts are putting forth some great looking typefaces.
Autodidakt is the portfolio of Göran Söderström who began designing typefaces in 2006. He has since had typeface families picked up by several foundries including Veer.

Romanian designer/illustrator Alex Beltechi is doing some interesting dimensional type-as-image work. Yes, it is highly digital (and I know some folks don’t like that), but it is also expertly rendered.
Eye Magazine has a nice little overview of a show currently taking place at Advanced Graphics. The show is titled ‘Celebrating 20 years of New Letterpress Prints’ and serves as a tribute to the work and partnership of letterpress typographers Alan Kitching and Celia Stothard. You can read more about the show and see more of the sincerely stunning letterpress posters created for the exhibit at Eye.

The typographical illustrations created by Jonathan Zawada for the ‘Big Mouth Project’ are just downright spectacular. You can read more about the project at Zawada’s website.

The Casual Optimist has posted a nice Q and A with David Pearson from David Person Design on his process for generating some truly beautiful covers for Penguin Books.
The Church of London emailed while I was on holiday to let me know about the latest issues of Little White Lies and Huck magazine. Both of the current issues are running features on Spike Jonze’s Where The Wild Things Are. To commemorate the release of the film they hired Geoff McFetridge (who created the final credits for the movie) to create an illustration that can be split across the covers when they are placed next to one another. The issues were released on October 31st.
Tomato updates their site with a huge amount of work that you can spend some serious time surfing through and being inspired by.
There is some really stunning calligraphy in the Behance portfolio of the talented craftsman Jordan Jelev. It is truely type as art.
