Oslo-based multidisciplinary design studio Heydays has been busy and updated with a slew of new print and branding work this week. All of which is meticulously photographed (a skill in and of itself) and looks stunning. Their bold simple use of color makes their work pop.
South African designer and illustrator Adam The Velcro Suit has been busy lately and made some updates to his Flickr-folio. There has been some great looking gig posters recently added, still rocking on the vintage tip but that old school inspired eye candy looks sweet.
Bay area native Alex Varanese has an unusual style all his own. I have seen his work before and posted it in prior versions of the blog but he has been staying busy and recently updated with a new series of experimental typographical layouts. He obviously has a fetish for the color orange, that much is easy to figure out and he has a thing for cassette tapes and the 80s. He is also very good at rendering 3d type and image. The one thing that you might not pick up on right away until spending a little time surfing around his site is that he also has a great sense of humor. He may or may not know that he is also a good writer. What I’m trying to say is this guy’s got some skills and I am picking up on what he is layin’ down.
‘Rising star’ designer (according to Computer Arts) Jessica Walsh has updated with a new website and some stunning work that incorporates photographic sets into editorial print. Her portfolio is bursting with color and she is indeed living up to her praise.
Ryan Hurley is a freelance graphic designer currently based in East London. He gained experience working agencies in Amsterdam and has a healthy portfolio as a result. I love the Lettre Clock he created above which you can also purchase here.
Artiva is a studio based in Genoa, Italy that is comprised of designers Daniele De Batté and Davide Sossi. They have some beautiful work for print in their collective portfolio.
It was all the way back in the summer of 2008 that I first mentioned the work of Shaz Madani. He has been very busy since then. Madani has spent time at studios and agencies like The Partners, Why Not Associates and Mind Design. His experience shows in his beautiful print work and any designer would be jealous of some of the pieces he produced for Topshop.
Quirky data-addicted graphic designer Nicholas Felton has once again released his annual opus to his everyday life, The 2009 Feltron Annual Report full of beautiful looking yet somewhat meaningless infographics.
Atelier Aquarium has updated with some colorful yet cleanly executed new project work. The series of exhibition invitation for Galerie Néon are a standout.
Task Focused is the graphic design work of Melbourne based designer Rob Cordiner. I have posted his work before on past versions of the blog but that was a long time ago and he has since updated with several new projects.
Re:collection is an inventory of Australian graphic design produced between 1960 and 1980 subjectively curated according to the tastes of Dominic Hofstede.
Italian design studio asa~ama works on projects ranging from editorial projects, artistic installations, sound design, events planning, illustration, graphic & web design, communication and music productions. They believe that sharing experience, ideas, methods and professionals skills underpins professional growth. They keep their studio open where visitors can browse a specialized library, a comprehensive music collection and a gallery of our works surrounding the designers work spaces.
Undesign is an Italian branding company that focuses on identity work. Their approach seems to be stripping things down to their basic components. Their mission statement/philosophy is ‘design less, design better’. Hmm.
Design and branding studio No Method has launched a new website with a huge portfolio of amazing creative work. There are a lot of gems to be mined but it is well worth the excavation.
London based Inventory Studio was founded in 2008 by Robert Boon & David Lane. They have some great work for branding and print including the logo and stationary system for the restaurant consultancy ‘Eat Green’. ‘Cracking’ as my friends across the pond might say.
“Attak is a twoheaded graphic design monster formed in 2004 and is based in lovely ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, eversince. We work on all sorts of printed matter like posters, flyers, cd-sleeves, logos, corporate identities, magazines and clothing. We value clients who value our artistic ideals and therefore demand a design that requires the utmost of our artistic abilities.”
Amen on the part about the clients. The two heads of the monster are Peter Korsman & Casper Herselman. I had never heard of this agency before but got a little email tip this morning and was super impressed by their body of poster work. There is some great stuff in there, and a lot of it too, if you are in the mood for a little added inspiration today.
It’s been a really long time since I have said anything about the Iskra Print Collective but in between then and now they have been busy creating some dead sexy gig posters. I would be more than happy to hang anything from their catalog on my wall.
