One of my old image-maker favorites Miika Saksi has updated with some new compositions for various clients over this last year. There is always so much style happening in the Saksi portfolio that it is just impossible to not feel a little glamored.

British illustrator Ray Smith is based in London where he is creating a number of interesting illustrations. Many of them mash together unusual elements within a contained composition that makes for a visually tense, highly detailed and juxtaposed visual.

Soemone is the work of freelance digital illustrator Pierre Doucin. His site presents a striking array of compelling imagery and his work is all very ‘digital’ in it’s presentation which tends to either strike a wholly favorable or totally disfavorable cord in discerning hearts. He is definitely and ‘image maker’ and personally I found some inspiring images in his collection.

Australian Illustrator Matt Huynh self-publishes his own comics. The 2009 Creative Sydney Festival named him one of the most innovative contributors to Sydney’s culture and he was awarded the inaugural Design NSW Travelling Scholarship to pursue a worldwide professional development trip to train and work in residence under his greatest influences and inspirations. He has also worked for several notable clients and agencies. He currently has a new series of prints and custom portfolios to be released late October that can be pre-ordered now.

Illustrator Michael Gillette updates with some excellent work up at his new website. I particularly like what he is doing in that he is not operating with a singular style but addressing each project with a unique illustrative solution. That is not an easy thing to do and his work is very inspiring. I desperately want to get my hands on a copy of that MGMT poster. If you know where to find one, leave a comment. I am a big fan of both the band and that style of illustration.

It’s been a long time since I wrote about the work of illustrator/designer Daniel J Diggle and he has been working on a stippling pen and ink technique to produce some remarkably detailed typographical illustrations. You can view his work either view his Behance-folio, his personal website or via his Flickr-folio.

Artist and illustrator Jasper Goodall has started selling prints via his website and has a deal on the above set. The prints themselves are a little pricey but they are being released in very limited quantities and if you are a devout fan of his work, it might be a rare opportunity to hang some of his unique imagery in your living space or studio.

Sam Green has updated yet again with more exceptional illustration work. It appears as though he also updated his website as well (going the Cargo route). I have to admit that I am becoming a huge fan of Green’s work. He’s definitely one of my favorites from the last few years. He keeps getting better and his work continues to mature and become more interesting.

Mexican illustrator Neto Zamora has some super fun imagery in his Behance-folio. He also breaks down the process from the original sketch to the final product which is an inspiring thing to sort through and might plant an idea or two for the would-be illustrator/designer.

Connor Willumsen is a curious illustrator based in Montreal, Canada. His work is somewhat unusual and you have to keep clicking into his Flickr-folio to really uncover some interesting imagery that recalls comic books and functions almost as surrealist pop art.

Spanish designer/illustrator Mar Hernandez is based out of the gorgeous city of Valencia Spain (hey jealousy) and produces some lovely retro-inspired illustrations that are easy on the eyes. I would imagine they’d light up a mid-century styled interior as well. You can see her work both via her home website and her Flickr-folio.
