I am just going to come out with it and say that Sam Weber is probably my favorite if not one of my most favorite illustrators out there today. His work not only inspires me but just connects with me on some deeper level. I just think the things he creates are totally beautiful.
He just moved into a new work space in Brooklyn and is looking for a couple of people to share the space with him. He also has some new, and as always remarkable work in his portfolio. He continues to be a huge inspiration.

I got a really nice surprise in the mail a couple of weeks back from illustrator Micah Lidberg (we love getting nice things in the mail). I had a conversation a year or so back with illustrator Mario Hugo and he mentioned that Micah and is just a flat out awesome and enthusiastic guy. The book is called ‘Rise and Fall’ and is a long diorama illustration that folds out into a poster. You can purchase a copy from Nobrow Publishing here for $16 dollars. It’s a really beautifully printed little art piece that now sits happily on my desk.
Thanks Micah. You are awesome.

Ginette Lapalme lives and works in Toronto, Canada. She is part of the silkscreen studio Halo Halo and is also a member of the Woweezonk comic collective. She has a hand-on somewhat retro-inspired style that incorporates watercolor with great effect. The painted sticks above are for her Threadless shirt submission. Very nice.

Spanish illustrator Joaquin Secall has a small but memorable body of work that pokes and prods at popular culture. He enjoys being cheeky and isn’t afraid to get taboo. You can view his work at either his Behance-folio or his personal website.

French illustrator Véronique Meignaud aka Marmotte has been extremely busy and has continued to update her unusual portfolio with even more colorful and imaginative works. I am becoming a big fan of her particular style of illustration and the ‘weirder’ she gets the better her portfolio is. Some of her recent works are nothing short of stunning.

Illustrator Tom Hovey uses his hands and looks like he keeps them off of the mouse most of the time while generating his watercolor illustrations. The work benefits greatly from the approach as it keeps a raw and emotional tone.
