There are some strange new goings on in the portfolio of French photographer Julien Palast. He normally captures trendy imagery of cosmetics and products but some strange and interesting more human endeavors have recently been cropping up in his Behance portfolio.
Quirky French studio Akatre has been very busy updating with several new and original works in their portfolio. Akatre was founded by Julien Dhivert and Sebastien Riveron and continues to evolve with experimental and original work. They are definitely a studio to watch as it’s impossible to forecast exactly what they will do next.

Kaeleen Wescoat-O’Neill just graduated from the Art Center College of Design and informed me today that she has recently updated her portfolio with some new illustration work that is worth checking out.
Dorset based illustrator Paul Blow has updated with a new website and work. He is a rare breed of illustrator who put concept above style and it’s exactly that approach that makes all of his images so engaging.
My friend and local Denver designer/illustrator Anthony Cozzi has recently refreshed his online store with a new hand drawn screen printed poster featuring an oldie but goodie skate trick. Anthony invests a lot in his prints and uses high quality materials so you can be assured this will look sharp on your wall and if you into skeleton sport tricks you could always pair it with his Dead Wheelie print from the San Francisco Art Crank exhibition.
Artist and illustrator Tae Querney was born in Seoul, Korea but grew up in Seattle and is currently living in New York City. She has an interesting yet still somewhat small body of work one half featuring more contemporary art and the other illustration. I just couldn’t take my eyes off of the painting above, it’s like passing by a train wreck. You can’t look away.

As an art lover you have to appreciate the homage to some of the most famous works of art reconstructed in this video for the single ’70 Million’ by the fun and funny band ‘Hold Your Horses’.

Photographer Alexandra Valenti captures a feeling from a bygone era with washed out images, naked babies, hippy garb and rainbow tints that take you back to an era about music, love and drugs. Ahh the good old days. It’s not too late to bring them back no?
Although you could say the name ‘Tnacir’ is a little questionable, it’s hard not to like the combination of contemporary art nudes with patterns using a warm muted color palette. You can see them in the Tnacir Flickrfolio. I wish I knew more about this artist but I guess the work speaks for itself.
Veteran Ad photographer Tim Tadder moves around a lot and has served a list of big-name clients. His sarcastic wit and worldly experience comes through in his bright, vivid and highly composed imagery.
Comments Off on Bicicleta Sem Freio: UpdatesIllustration
The Brazilian design and illustration trio known as ‘Bicicleta Sem Freio’ (bicycle with no brakes) that is comprised of Douglas de Castro, Victor Rocha and Renato Reno have continued to fill their Flickr-folio with fantastically kitschy work that is downright impossible not to like. I am digging their brand of cynical pop big time.
Pulpo Corporate is the work of Argentinian artist and illustrator Fernando Herenu. After graduating from the University of Buenos Aires he has spent the last several years working as an artist for the Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. In his after hours he has been working to develop his own style which can be seen at his personal site.
This is the first animation clip produced by Tant and Unga of the ‘Broken Fingaz‘ graffiti crew from Israel. Be sure to drop by their website after the video to see more of their work.
I was contacted this week and notified that the ‘Life in 2050‘ exhibition curated by Transmission for the 9th Sci-Fi-London Film Festival kicks off tomorrow at Proud Central Gallery in London. I posted news of the show back in January but have been waiting to say more until work was online and available to view. Work has been posted this week and prints will soon be available to purchase. Contributing artists include Alex Trochut (whose entry is shown above), Dan McPharlin, Mario Hugo, Tom Muller, Universal Everything and several others.
The ident above was commissioned for the show and created by Future Deluxe. I really wish I could be there for this one.
