Monsieur Qui

Comments Off on Monsieur QuiIllustration

Monsieur Qui is a French illustrator who loves cats, dogs, working with his hands, listening to big brass bands and pasting posters up in the streets of Pari. I am loving some of his hand drawn illustration work on shoes, guitars, skateboards and munnies.

Creative representation agency Monsieur L’agent has updated with a new website that offers up some new work from it’s all star roster of illustrators, designer, art directors, photographers and set designers. There is some really remarkable work on the site. It takes some time to dig through a lot of it but think of it as mining inspirational gems.

Ricardo Fumanal: Updates

Comments Off on Ricardo Fumanal: UpdatesIllustration

ricardofumanal2.jpg

It was only a couple of months ago that I mentioned illustrator Ricardo Fumanal but he has been busy since. His already smooth fashion-related/inspired drawing work continues to get even silkier (great adjective that’s so rarely called for). Fumanal was ‘born in Huesca in 1984 and moved to London after cultivating his youthful spirit in Barcelona and Madrid’. Damn that sounds cool doesn’t it? I was born in Nebraska and cultivated my spirit (whatever the hell that means) in Denver, Colorado. It just doesn’t have the same ring to it does it? I spent a week in Barcelona and a couple of days in London a few months ago, and all I can think about is going back (any projects in London/Barcelona anyone?). Fumanal’s coolness translates into his work as it is expertly executed and manifested with a sensitivity to craft that maintains a dash of fine art (all kidding aside).

At some point in the not so distant past it appears illustration/design powerhouse Vault 49 has updated with what looks like both a new website and several new projects. All of which looks pop-o-liscious.

There is some tasty digital photo illustration work in the Behance portfolio of Portland-based designer/illustration Craig Sprecher. I had a pair of Spiz’ikes but I sold them on eBay when I needed some quick cash (damn).

It wasn’t long ago that I wrote about the exploits of designer/illustrator Philippe Intraligi but it appears his site has recently been updated and there is all manner of colorful eyecandy in his new portfolio to sink your lashes into. You can also peep more at his Behance-folio.

Tim Lahan – Flickrfolio

Comments Off on Tim Lahan – FlickrfolioIllustration

lahanpoopman.jpg

Tim Lahan is an illustrator I have always enjoyed for his rather peculiar sense of sarcasm. I always end up quite literally laughing out loud (oh I said it LOL) when looking through his work. The adventures of poop man in his Flickrfolio were no exception. I mean how can you not appreciate an image titled ‘Poop Douche’. I not only appreciate the illustration, I also appreciate the fact that Tim is always subconsciously on the lookout for the next perfect image to fit poop man into.

Russian artist and illustrator Eika Dopludo has some nice pencil work in her Behance-folio but the standout is definitely this hand drawn alphabet. Each letterform is it’s own work of art and you can see all of them one-by-one here.

I remember seeing one of Jason Holley’s illustration a few years back in one of the Communication Arts Illustration annuals. I bookmarked the page and kept referencing it for inspiration. As far as I know he only recently put up a website. His work continues to inspire.

I posted a link to designer and typographer Sean Freeman just last week to showcase a project he recently completed with Pomme Chan. I didn’t realize however that he had just updated his website with a lot of new work. His type illustrations are top notch and just downright fun to look at which is no doubt because of his commitment to the final product.

She also completed a nice series of illustrated type for New York Times Magazine. Pomme is currently based in London where she can be commissioned to lend her unique artistically organic style to new design and illustration projects.

Yu Cheng Hong: Updates

Comments Off on Yu Cheng Hong: UpdatesIllustration

yuchenghong1.jpg

Yu Cheng Hong is an illustrator, concept artist and motion designer based in Taipei, Taiwan. Although I can’t claim to be a fan of the Flash portfolio, there are large scale images at his site and his illustrations are incredibly elaborate and remarkably imaginative. It’s all well worth checking out and sitting patiently through any preloading.

I originally posted his work last summer but he has since updated with both a new site and some exceptional new work.

Kristina Collantes Again

Comments Off on Kristina Collantes AgainIllustration

Illustrator Kristina Collantes has been written about on this blog several times but damn it all if she doesn’t just keep updating with such cool illustration work. She keeps growing and expanding her style and she very recently added a psychedelic Fantastic Planet inspired set of candy colored images that are exceptionally fun to look at. I had to let you know about them because I love them and would love to hang the whole set in my studio.
