Eric at Doe Eyed has updated with some excellent new posters including a particular favorite of mine for Mogwai. Eric is actually related to a very old highschool/college friend of mine who is also a graphic designer. It’s a small world I guess especially when you are from Nebraska.
Tom Darracott is an independent designer and art director. After studying at Saint Martins where he earned an MA in Visual Communication he joined the design studio Village Green where he worked on a projects for several notable clients. Michael at Ventilate is a very nice person and I had the opportunity to exchange several emails with him in the past few weeks about a project I hoped to initiate but just didn’t have time to pull together. Fortunately, Michael grab the reigns and put together the ‘Ventilate Japan‘ project to help pool some money to put toward the relief effort in Japan. A lot of news has happened since the earthquake in Japan but there are so many still suffering and they really do still need global support in any way we can get it to them.
Ventilate managed to pull together some very talented artists who really put some passion into designing some great posters for the cause.
Thank you so much Michael and Ventilate.
Conor Cronin is a young art director originally born in South Africa but now residing in Barcelona, Spain. He has a knack for color, image and style. He’s good at combining them to create some memorable images. In short, he’s a damn fine art director with a very bright future.
I just can’t get enough of Leif Podhajsky and I don’t think I am the only one. It doesn’t make it easier that he is continually producing work from Tame Impala who has been one of my favorite bands in the past couple of years. They are lucky to have employed his skills while they could still afford them. He’s updated yet again with more work for the band that is again simple yet inspiring. I’d love a print of the above image.
“Jamie Wieck is a design factotum; he is a designer who illustrates, an illustrator who directs and a director who writes. He is member of the cross-discipline design studio Airside.”
As could be expected from such a succinct, clever and intelligent description you will find more of the same in Wieck’s portfolio of project work.
Aside from having quite possibly one of the most clever names I have run across in quite some time, bay area based design studio Made Service also has a strong portfolio of work that includes a healthy dose of both illustration and design. They also have an appreciation for extremely well made sandwiches.
Orlando, Florida based graphic designer Danny Jones has a clean and tasty body of work including some minimally designed but highly considered print work. It looks extra sexy photographed closeup so you can catch the punch from the letterpress.
Polish illustration and design house Studio KXX has updated with a few long scrolls to their Behance portfolio that features some nice design work that is a little break from their typical illustration work, although you couldn’t really call their amazing illustrations ‘typical’.
Elliott Grubb has lots of doubled letters in his name and he also has some nice design and illustration work in his book for clients like Nike, Levis and Computer Arts. He’s an industrious designer as well with his own storefront where he has already sold out several prints.
Design house Non-Format updates yet again with notable work, this time for The Sanahunt Times as well as a few other new postings for various clients. As always, every piece posted to their portfolio is an inspiration unto itself.
Marius Roosendaal is a graphic designer from the Netherlands with a keen eye for simple typography, an interest in sci-fi and an ability to keep things likeably minimal.
