Paul D’Amato has some really amazing urban slice-of-life photos in his portfolio. The amazing thing about them is that there is a hard knock life thing being communicated in some of the images but there are some that also feel very much about a celebration of life. The funny thing about his portfolio is that his commercial work could not be more opposite than the rest of his imagery. Someone hand this man a good investigative embedded piece of journalistic work. I don’t think you would be dissappointed with the results.

Illustrator Jonathan Bartlett (See JB Draw) got in touch to let me know he has been learning and working toward screenprinting some of his work. The results are really nice and you can see them at the upper left of his website. One of the prints is shown above.
Comments Off on Seb Lester – Electrik SheepTypography
Both Seb Lester and Electrik Sheep have gotten in touch with me about Lester’s upcoming show at the Electrik Sheep gallery. As opposed to me butchering the description from there, you can see a video of the color-changing ink used for one of the posters above and get all the details about Lester and the show below.
“Electrik Sheep Gallery Presents… Seb Lester
Electrik Sheep is proud to be hosting Seb Lester’s first solo show of exclusive prints and originals.
The Electrik Sheep Gallery, Newcastle will be showing a full body of work from Seb Lester this August including a number of new limited edition prints and originals exclusive to Electrik Sheep. These will complement a selection of his well known back catalogue of work which documents his recent foray into the world of art.
Seb is “passionate about letterforms” which form the basis for his pieces. He brings letters to life with his innovative approach and bold sense of humour. Often drawing on racy subject matter and a dazzling array of lettering styles he manages to produce thoroughly modern work that would look as good on the wall of a New York loft apartment as it would in an English country house.
Seb was trained at the renowned Central Saint Martins School of art and is internationally known for his typeface designs and illustrations which have been used by many of the world’s biggest companies and publications including Intel, The New York Times, The Sunday Times, Penguin, Faber & Faber and GQ Magazine.
Following on from other exclusive solo shows from Faile, Eelus, Eine to name a few the show will open on August 6th at 6pm with one of Electrik Sheep’s infamous street parties and an after party at the Forth Hotel. All pieces will also be released online at the same time for those of you unable to make the trip.”

Eleanna Anagnos is an abstract artist with a keen grip on her color palette. There is a tangible physicality combined with a vortex sense of motion in her work. She currently lives in Brooklyn.
There is a really good body of work in the portfolio of French studio PNTS, not the least of which is a series of really cool geometric symmetrical layouts using old school bodybuilding photographs. Nothing like Arnold in the 70s.
