At first I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this low-fi animation titled ‘Orpheus’ Pony’ by Michael Fragstein but then it sunk in just how much is actually going on in it and how truly psychedelic it really is, then I was hooked. Bizarre but good.

Illustrator and artist Brian Luong is a man of many talents and he spreads them from paper to screen with such fluidity that there is no telling what he might create next. Whatever it is though, it’s pretty much guaranteed that it will be expertly crafted by a talented hand.
Shera is the alias of illustrator and painter Julien Tran-Dinh who lives and works in Paris, France. Pop art, Disney, rock and fashion have been stewed together in a violent, sexy and predominately black and white pen and ink apocalyptic mix.
Deerhoof’s most recent video was directed by Akiko McQuerrey & Jason Drakeford. The video features some out of body travel accompanied by some excellent art direction that makes use of the always dramatic black and white.

The notorious team that is Non-Format and by now needs no introduction in the design circle has updated yet again with some striking new project work.
Sam Dallyn just makes beautiful things. Those things range all over the place from clocks, to print campaigns to business cards but each one of them addresses a highly considered, clean and contemporary aesthetic that makes his work stand out as a whole immediately upon viewing the home page of his website.
Illustrator Phil Wrigglesworth knows how to present his work and does so in a way that immediately familiarizes the viewer with his visual language. It’s a smart move for an illustrator in this day and age of art and illustration as product.
Austrian designer illustrator David Mascha has updated with more colorful info-like graphics for companies like AT&T and IBM. I am really digging his abstract, colorful and dimensional visuals.
‘Manifesto Fragments’ is a projects spearheaded by Tendril Design and Animation that was originally conceived in order to find and channel new inspiration as to what attracted Tendril to the motion and animation industry in the first place. The project is playing out as bits of a visual manifesto with each part being able to stand on it’s own while also working as a part of the manifesto whole. The first in the series is above and is entitled ‘Seed’.

One of the largest earthquakes ever recorded rocked Japan today causing a massive tsunami that swept away homes, farms, cars, roads and possibly thousands or more victims across a 1300 mile swath of coastland. The 8.9 quake stretched hundreds of miles from it’s epicenter shaking cities as far away inland as Tokyo. Ripples from this quake will no doubt be felt around the world including possible smaller Tsunamis striking the Hawaiian islands and the west coast of the United States. Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in Japan.
