I posted Jacob Magraw Mickelson’s work to my last blog but was reminded today of his work at Design You Trust and thought I had better repost it. Really amazing paintings and drawings not just from a technical standpoint but also with the use of color. Strange but beautiful work.
I first noticed Ben Beaudoin’s crazy wild sculptures on FFFFound and then again over at Booooooom and realized I better get on the train and tell you about him and his unusual talent. Definitely someone to keep an eye on because I have little doubt he will produce something equally interesting in the future.
Disturbing, yet still amazing art and photography from Gregori Maiofis. His gelatin silver prints look like they are over a hundred years old and feel that way as well, but beneath the surface of each something lingers and sticks in the subconscious.
“The Victoria & Albert Museum presents Forever. Floating above the pond within the John Madejski Garden, a large videowall installation of endless animations responding to an ever changing soundtrack. The bespoke generative design system at the heart of Forever will spawn unique audio-visual films everyday, forever.
Really strange and interesting figural sculptures from the mind of artist Julie Tremblay, all constructed from varying materials. Amazing attention to form considering the difficult materials with which she works.
Hint: click on her name to start viewing her work.
Who knew you could craft such totally original and absolutely bizarre art out of ceramic? Really cool work and totally unique work from Tomas Schneider.
Again, I was fairly sure I had written about Click for Art before but can’t seem to find it after searching through posts so I don’t want to miss mentioning it. Through the site you can purchase all kinds of artistic goods from some well known and some less known artists, illustrators and graphic designers. There is some really fantastic merchandise available at the site but a lot of it doesn’t come cheap so be prepared to burn a little hole in your pocketbook.
Dave Kinsey has put some photos up at Fecal Face of a show he did this summer in Italy and the paintings are just beautiful. His work has come so face and it is really stellar. I love his color palette and rendering style. His work just keeps getting better and it is a testament to the hard work he puts in. It makes me anxious to finally get into a house (which I am shopping for right now) so I have some space to start painting again.
Another great art print is available for a really reasonable price at the Black Market Gallery from Robert Hardgrave. His work just keeps getting better and better. Beautiful work and print.
Mars-1 has a new limited giclee print, titled ‘The Nature of Time’ available in his shop. I have heard some people say that the liked it better when he was producing more of his ‘robot’ or character works but I think his new psychedelic landscape work is absolutely amazing. All of the imagery inspires imagination and it is really beautiful and original work. I am continually amazed by what he is capable producing straight from his imagination. Do yourself a favor and purchase one of his prints. Its a worthy investment for a work from such a talented artist and their if you can afford it, there is no better way to support both an artist you love and the proliferation of art.
