Jessica Hische has assembled a nice little chart to help you answer the age old question ‘Should I Work For Free?‘ Most of the time, I would say no but there are exceptions to every rule and good causes that can always use and extra hand.

German designer and illustrator Christoph Ruprecht is making some extremely strange things and they seem to be spilling out of him at high velocity. The long scrolls in his Behance-folio yield an onslaught of mind melting color, psychedelic landscapes and trippy typography.

James White has a kind of super new age tech pop thing happening in his work that he fully embraces, aggressively markets and is damn good at making it a lot of fun to look at. In a way he has commanded that style from the onset much as Scott Hansen of ISO50 cornered his own little retro new-age niche. He just recently arranged some of that glowing candy imagery into a site that grabs you right from the first page of thumbnails.

Somewhere out there along the journey Accept and Proceed became a great design studio. Everything is clean and accounted for and no space or negative space goes unconsidered.

Art, illustration and design collective We Are Young Monster have been cranking out the intense psychedelia lately. Their gigposters get stranger with every new commission but there is no disputing their artistic quality. Count me as a fan.

Maddison Graphic is a small design studio formed by brothers Edward and Alfie Maddison based in Ely, Cambridgeshire. They have recently updated with some new work to their portfolio including this absolutely lovely little poster they printed and mailed to us. We were thrilled as it is clearly a striking and colorful piece of design. Now we just have to find a proper frame since we don’t use the isometric paper system here across the pond. Thank you so much for the poster guys. We love it.

My friend Celeste Prevost uprooted a while back and moved to San Francisco. It was a sad loss for the Denver creative community although she and her hubby occasionally pop back into the scene here in Denver to take part in local design and art shows. Celeste was one of the more talented young designers I had ran into in Denver until she took off on a cross-country try-a-city journey. She was one of my very first MySpace friends back when we still actually used MySpace. She has kept herself busy and held fast to a simple aesthetic building a strikingly simple, colorful and cleanly designed body of work. It appears there have been a few updates as of late and it’s worth dropping in on her site to see what she’s been up to.

SantaMonica is a Barcelona based brand focused on clean, crisp and classic graphic design. Consequently they have an absolutely stellar collection of posters and tee shirts available for purchase at their website. The images are a little smaller at their home website but you can get a much larger view in their Behance portfolio. I was confused by the ‘Santa Monica’ part of their name when I first came across the posters, thinking maybe they were part of a public campaign created for the city of Santa Monica. Nevertheless, they are expertly designed and I could imagine the posters generating a healthy dose of conversation in the right setting.

One of my most favorite British Illustrators Steven Wilson updated some time ago with a new website. It’s much easier to navigate his extensive portfolio now and the images are also much larger than they were on his last website. So you can get a good look at all of the melting, colorful and downright popoliscious work spilling from the mind and hand of Wilson. I absolutely love his work. It shoots an arrow straight into my pop art heart.
