One of my all-time favorite studios Non-Format have recently updated with a few new projects including a stunning bit of work for the recently released new Adobe creative suite.
I’ve recently launched my own illustration website. I will be releasing a poster for the classic German silent horror film Nosferatu this summer in conjunction with a gallery in the UK. I can’t say much more about it now than that other than the fact that the posters will be 24×36 with glow in the dark and metallic inks. I spared no expense. I’ll be posting my illustration work now at Chrillustrate and am looking for projects so please contact me if you are interested. Expect lots more in the future.
Brazilian artist and illustrator João Ruas AKA Feral Kid has updated with some new inspirational, dark but beautiful work.
Illustrator Chris Koehler is an illustrator I very much admire. His work has a very graphic quality although Koehler works with traditional media which is a bit of an ironic breath of fresh air in the now heavily digital world of illustration. He recently updated his portfolio with some spectacular new project work.
I was recently turned onto the work of illustrator Laurent Durieux from a poster he released through Dark Hall Mansion. I’ve heard it through the grapevine that he has some upcoming posters being released through Mondo as well. It’s easy to see how he attracted the attention after you take a look through his exceptional body of work.
Berlin-based film and entertainment illustration and concept art studio Six More Vodka has updated since I last dropped in and good God man is their work amazing. Talk about inspiring, the above image of the Hulk just blew my brain wide open. These people are truly amazing. Be sure to check out their kick ass concept work as well.
I’ve been following Depthcore for inspirations sake now for several years. It appears they’ve recently updated the look and feel of their website. It looks great and it’s even easier now to peruse some of the inspiring work that regularly appears within their thematic ‘chapters’. The piece above is from the recent chapter ‘Time’ and was created by Pavel Sabelnikov.
Man Joshua Smith AKA (the notorious) Hydro 74 just doesn’t f*ck around. The guy’s the real deal. Tried and tested. I recently stumbled upon a halftone print series he is working on and instantly recognized his work but it looked ‘new’ in a way difficult to describe. In short it looks awesome. Yes that is an overused word but in this case it definitely applies. I’ll be looking to get my hands on one of these prints. Keep an eye on his storefront to do the same.
We’ve had the shear pleasure of working with illustrator Andrew Holder in the past and we are big fans of his work. He has a simple but inarguably classic style that walks the line between fine art and illustration. He’s an absolute professional to work with and he’s recently updated his website so if you are in the market for something unique, it’s a good time to give the man a call. Great work Andrew.
I ran across the ink drawings of shit hot talented Jonathan bergeron a week or so back while surfing around FFFFound and low and behold in between hot hipster chicks with big boobs and tattoos was some sincerely awesome pen and ink drawings. You can see lots more at his Behance-folio. Guy’s got skills. Like ‘hand’ skills.
I stumbled upon one of my favorite illustrator’s Flickrfolio today and that illustrator is none other than Jonathan Zawada. Of particular interest was this clever ‘bust’ portrait of Michael Jackson for an unpublished magazine article.
There is a wicked cool body of amazingly diversified but consistently good illustration work happening throughout the portfolio of Diego Patino.
Can something be gritty and grungey yet lyrical and approachable all at once? Well illustrator Dustin Holmes seems to be pulling it off.
“My name is Jonathan Lax (also known as YONIL) and i am an illustrator and a graphic designer born 1982 in Holon (That’s a city in Israel).
I graduated with honors from the Department of Visual Communication at the Holon Institute of Technology H.I.T. This happened in 2009.
My main influences are urbanism, cities, music posters, album covers and street arts. I believe that the essence of every artwork is its basic idea, so I would usually devote a great deal of time for an idea to emerge.
I currently live and work in Tel-Aviv, Israel.”
I am really digging the work of Curt Melo who claims he ‘didn’t choose to be an artist but he did choose to be an illustrator’. You have to think about that one for a minute because it speaks volumes as to what it means to have to draw a line and distinguish between the two in this crazy creative game many of us have to make a living at.
Russian illustrator and artist Yana Moskaluk has kept at it since I last dropped in on her work and there have been a few notable updates as of late to her portfolio.
Jeanti is an illustrator living and working in Paris (how nice). There’s a kind of 80’s airbrushed kind of thing happing in Jeanti’s work that makes for an extra sugary bit of eye candy.
Jonathan Zawada has kept busy. The best way to see what he has been up to is by checking in on his ‘commercial portfolio‘ where there looks to be a lot of activity since I last dropped in a long while back.
