Slot. K is a Taiwan talent whose work draws inspiration from fashion, the 70s and the ever-dramatic combination of Black and White. It all comes together in a memorable surf through the Flickr Photostream.

Please enjoy the washed out, slightly retro and sometimes sun-drenched photography captured by Spanish photographer Ana Cabaleiro. It’s a light and beautiful affair. I would say more but the images say it all.
Naked instructed me to ‘ignore the music’ and watch the visuals but they are kinda part and parcel with one another when it comes to this sorta thing. I actually think they work rather well together but I will also admit that the visuals are definitely the more amazing of the pair. Bright, bold, neon and beautiful are words that are easily put to use.
Illustrator Nathan Manire notified us that he recently updated his portfolio and he has expanded upon his style and capabilities with some new and refreshing imagery. He is a multifaceted talent as capable by the way of hand as by the way of the mouse and that is much more clear in his updated book.
Anyone who has frequented this site over the past few years will know there is a special place in my heart for animated gifs which can sometimes be a point of contention since some people think they are pure and pointless trite nonsense. But that is what makes them kind of radical in my opinion. So I was pleased to discover the ‘Psychedelic Gif‘ works for artist Yöshi Sodeöka and event more pleasantly surprised to find a larger, more complex and all the more compelling body of artistic work to accompany the series.
I’ll come right out and admit that I am not a fan of the arbitrary and subjective lists that crowd and overpopulate the internet but the ever-inspiring Dieline knows what they are talking about. They have amassed their ‘top 100‘ package designs of 2011 and there is some ‘abfab’ work to take in, ponder and draw inspiration from. I was glad to see that I Love Dust’s portfolio package made the list. They are high on my list of ‘if we could just be like them’ studios that we look toward to inspire the growth and image of our studio, so our ears always perk up when we see them make a list of note.
SF based designer/illustrator Brent Couchman has that familiar minimal retro style happening in his portfolio and he does it very well. I should say his ‘Flickrfolio‘ rather.
Joanna Krótka has filed her work under the domain ‘Purenonsens‘ which is an act of humility to be sure.
“An illustrator based in Poland, born in mid-80’s with imagination driven by psychedelic and morbid pictures as well as prog/space/psychedelic rock music. Bur most of all – huge geek with love for all things geeky.”
As humble as she’d like to be there is some definite illustration talent represented in her portfolio.
Brasileiro designer and illustrator João Oliveira (Onrepeat) is a young talent whom I’ve followed a few years now. Enough so that he knows I am a sucker enough for his work that I will post it just as soon as he has made a major update which he does more often than most. So once again, he has been in touch and updated his poppy, colorful and fun portfolio with new imagery. This time there is some 3d incorporated which breathes new life into his work. As always, it’s a lot of sugary eye candy that is sure to give the brain a little rush.
Joshua Hibbert was another artist who sent me his work and very humbly so as well. It was another, hey please check out my work email and to be honest, for as long as I have been blogging and looking at portfolios online (over 10 years now) you develop certain predisposed judgements. So when I see a link to a ‘blogspot’ portfolio I think, well he/she doesn’t really have a real website so I will check it out, but my expectations are at a minimum. But who am I to be such a pretentious douchebag and think that I know everything about how people choose to display their work online. I say this especially because Hibbert’s work surprised me and he has some excellent imagery on display and he is an obvious multi-faceted talent. Thanks for sending your work in Josh. I was inspired.
Bruno Borges is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in São Paulo, Brasil. I will be the first to admit that his portfolio plays like series of ‘familiarities’ with other work I have seen but that being said, he possesses the power to create strong images (enough so that I am posting it here anyway).
Vinicius Costa sent a humble little, ‘hey check out my latest work’ type of email and I have to say very humbly that I am floored. Wow. Absolutely gorgeous work is spilling over his amazing portfolio. What a talent.
AXN LatinAmerica called on Plenty to develop a promo of one of its primetime shows, “Criminal Minds”, whose main characters are a team of FBI profilers who analyze ‘Criminal Minds’ to deduce their next move.

Well this is it. The big year according to many cosmic calendars. It was a wild year for us at Changethethought. This was really the year the business of the studio got officially underway. We did a lot of work this year and will be carrying several projects over into 2012. We traveled, met lots of new people and had the opportunity to work with some absolutely wonderful human beings. We feel very lucky and very blessed.
I myself added a new member to my family. My son Liam Charles. He has since become the new love of my life. For all the fear I harbored over many years of marriage at becoming a parent, I have found all of it to be totally unfounded. My son is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. Seeing him smile, grow and learn is one of the greatest joys of my life. It’s given me renewed purpose and has pushed me even harder toward success. It’s also made me look at my wife with fresh eyes and realize just how fortunate I am to share a life and love with her.
2012 is going to be an important year for Changethethought. We will be adding some new people to our team and taking on even bigger and more exciting projects this year. We will also be working toward releasing more posters and breathing new life into the blog as well. Of course none of this would have ever been possible without the support I have received from my partners, the amazing people who have worked for us, my family and extended family and of course all of you that have read this blog over the years. Thank you to everyone and lets all hope that 2012 will not be the end of anything but the beginning and awakening of something entirely new, unexpected and utterly amazing.
Happy New Year from Changethethought to you.
I really dig the music for this track from Oupa titled ‘It’s Rough’ from the album Wild Love, but oh man I think I am tripping out man. Oh man I am tripping out so hard. AHHHH!

The illustrator known as ‘Brisseaux‘ has updated with some glowing hot Tron-inspired work that harkens back the 80s with a modern twist. It looks pretty darn cool if you ask me.
This is a way fun little piece of animation produced by the Argentinian duo Ronda + Sonni.

Stash has posted their best videos from 2011 and if you lean more toward the motion, animation, 3d and broadcast side of the creative business, it’s an inspiring list to pick through.
