I am really digging this new and smart series by young illustrator/designer Magomed Dovjenko who recently corrected me from a previous post that he is not yet even in his twenties. I feel a little Takashi Murakami coming on when I look through this series but that doesn’t lessen it for me at all, it actually makes it even better.

Really terribly sorry for the copying and pasting but I have so little time to blog lately. So alas…
“Skateboarder Magazine ‘We probably should have intervened when our Senior Photographer Jonathan Mehring got together with the globetrotting filmer Patrik Wallner to concoct some harebrained excursion to another third world country for a skateboarding trip, especially when they started throwing motorbikes into the mix.
But as they say, the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward, which is probably why the likes of Jerry Hsu, Keegan Sauder, Joey Pepper, Javier Mendizibal and Michael “Michi” Mackrodt were game to accompany them on this journey down nearly the entire length of Vietnam despite some of their limited past experience with riding motorbikes.'”

Matt Chase is a designer & illustrator living and working in Washington, DC. He seems to have a bit of a penchant for the past as his work skews a touch retro but in a good way.

Luis Toledo is a Spanish illustrator with a strange layered and heavy style drawing in streams of inspiration from several different cultures. These are digital collages but I don’t think that lessens the time and meticulous attention required to both see through and arrive at something so rich.

Patrice Olivier Acardy aka HEYPE has a diverse body of work. It’s a lot to take in but showcases a truly multi-faceted talent. Keep an eye out for the super thin black scroll bar at the edge of your browser.

The Nike 78 project has been updated and features some fresh new artist interpretations of the iconic Nike shoe. It’s an interesting project featuring some exciting and intelligent artists and speaks volumes about Nike’s ownership of it’s brand. Advertising agencies take note.
The above video is one of the older projects by ANSWR but it’s still one of my favorites.

I am a fan of Silence Television. His work is the perfect combination of tight graphic design and equally tight illustration. He’s thrown some new prints up for sale and you can’t miss with his work on your wall.

Yes Alex Trochut is still out there cranking things out. He’s put some new work up on his site since I last checked in probably over a year ago now. He still has an amazing portfolio to check out and the quality remains high. Hopefully he’s still doing well in Barcelona. I know things have been rough economically in Spain this past year.

Mikkel Sommer has some fun gestural work for comics and illustration in his portfolio. It’s kind of wild and colorful but he’s got a great eye for situational comedy and drama.

This is a fun little self-initiated project by Me & You Studio. Hopefully it will serve as a friendly reminder to get out there and create. Don’t wait for a project. Just do it. If you create, it will come.

Jake Fried actually hand drew this entire animation using ink and white out. Keep that in mind as the barrage of imagery begins to unfold. It’s wild. You can find out more about his work at inkwood.net.
