Classic graphic design from Hugh Morse.
Kory Matthew Westerhold is rollin’ in Brooklyn where he is runnin’ the streets.
Wow. Stumbling upon the work of Johan Prag was far and away the most inspiring thing I discovered all day and probably so far in the last several weeks. All of the work on Prag’s site is absolutely amazing. Sensational work.
Matt Judge is a multi-disciplined designer currently based in London under the employment of the award-winning agency, Sea. He has some really cleanly executed and attractive work in his portfolio.
YWFT has arguably been the single most reliable one-stop-shop for graphic designers looking for typefaces, original stock imagery, patterns, vectors, inspirational books and just about anything else you could think of. Well ‘the best just got better‘ with an all new website featuring faster downloads, exclusive material and bigger images.
YWFT really has been around for a while and it really has become one of the best sources of just about everything, so if you have never visited, this is a better time than ever. Some of the new stock image libraries on the home page, an image from which you can see above, already make it worth a new visit.
Beautiful work by Markus Mrugalla out of Berlin.
Montreal-based designer Julien De Repentigny work has been all over the internet lately and its easy to see why. His milk packaging concept in collaboration with Designer Gabriel Lefebvre has been noted on several blogs.
“Studio Vruchtvlees is an ambitious and creative collective, comprising Roman Stikkelorum, Rindor Golverdingen and Michael Danker. Our goal is to work close with the client, have good consultation and come to great results together. We work with great enthusiasm in a wide range of disciplines like: graphic design, web design illustration and photography. But we can also market your product, do branding or organise an event.”
It doesn’t look like they just design, it looks like they know how to party.
One of my favorite design and illustration firms, I Love Dust, has been breaking some new ground in the world of motion graphics animation. It is really no surprise when considering the amazing detail in their hand-rendered illustrations and their amazing ability to master whatever media they choose to use. They have two new experimental motion pieces on display at Ultimate PC. Sorry Mac people (that would include me).
Be sure to click on the smaller thumbnails to see both of the animations.
After a hiatus, Benny Luk is back with a whole new version of Sixstation. It also appears that he has taken the leap and made Sixstation a full service studio as well.
Belgium-based Design Lab has a full portfolio of attractive work and a website that shows how far you can push Indexhibit. Good stuff.
“Shape Studio is London based graphic design collective Jo Murray and Dominic Bell. They thrive on identity and print projects but are also looking for new challenges.
Shape Studio believe every project should have its own mold. Their approach; ideas-led and informed by the content of a brief, creates a unique outcome for any commission.”
Vault 49 has a blog where they keep a record of ongoing projects. There are some really nice illustrations and works of art currently in the loop and it’s worth a stop for a dose of inspiration.
Hello Hikimori has updated their website and portfolio with several new projects. It’s a loud browser-overtaking experience but they are good at what they do.
I have written of the exploits of young Argentinian designer Pablo Alfieri before but I happened upon his Behance portfolio this morning and was really impressed with some of the newer work I saw. He is just good at what he does.
A little more about him below:
“Pablo Alfieri is a graphic designer and illustrator born in 1982 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2002 he started the career of Graphic design in U.B.A. (University of Buenos Aires) when discovered his passion for design, illustration and typography. Since 2007 he has been working in RDYA Design Group, and in January of 2008 he created “Playful”, a showcase of his personal works, a free space where he plays and has fun with colors, typography and geometry shapes, the bases of his creative work.”
Alakazam is getting crazy with the cheez-whiz if you know what I’m saying. Crazy prints, t-shirts, zines and art exhibitions. Seizure inducing yet radically wild art goodness.
Richard May has posted a retrospective portfolio of work archived over the last decade on Flickr. There are some really stunning works of art in design and it is well worth a visit for the inspiration alone. Stunning work. Simple and beautiful.
“It’s far from comprehensive, because I also produced a whole heap of crap to five-minute deadlines, all of which has either been thrown away or confined to dusty CDs in the garage. I’ll be updating from time to time, as and when I find stuff worth posting.”
